Autumn Fruit – Haiku

16 Nov

So this is my second attempt at writing a Haiku poem. You tell me if I did better this time.

Crisp, juicy apple

Scrumptious to eat

In paradise a lover’s kiss

Young lovers eating an apple

Love to hear from you.

I’m not a fan of this form of poetry Vashti but that was delightful.

I love apples, hah. I think you did a great job. I didn’t see the first attempt but I’m sure that one was good too.

Reminiscent of Adam and Eve… purposeful?

Haiku is a fascinating form of poetry. The tight structure means everything else is free.

Zee, you got it, girl! Again, another subtle hint at my fantasy angels series. Shameless––I know. :/ I’m really loving it. I’m having a lot of fun with it. 😀

Ha,ha! Same here. I’m hoping to release the 1st installment of my Fantasy Angels Series, The Fall of Lilith, early next year. We’ll see, my fingers are crossed. 😉

Thank you Olga. I know you did. I enjoyed writing the other one more, not that I didn’t enjoy this one. I guess I had fun adding the horror element. 🙂

Love the theme and the word choices..please don’t take offence but the usual, traditional haiku form is 5/7/5 but nowadays several writers don’t keep to that so no worries
    My best to you

No offense taken, John. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’m going to try to stick to the structure more strictly since it’s really the only rule of writing a haiku. 🙂

Mouthwatering stuff, Vashti. I like this one very much, but I’d liked the other one you wrote as well, even though they are on opposite sides of the scale.

Hi Hugh! Thank you. To be honest I enjoyed writing my horror infused one best but this one was kind of fun too. Ha,ha. I love apples. 😉

Aw. I’m so glad Bekki. Pictures are also great for haiku inspiration. Especially landscapes. Haiku writing will get their creative juices flowing. Great idea. You just inspired me! I have to do an activity with a 5th grade class that’s reading my book, The Basement. I think we’re going to write haiku. 😀 Thank you!

As someone who wrote tons of Haiku poems last April, I have to say, this one is great. I just wish I could take the credit! LOL

Oh, the last line is gorgeous! I love the direction in which you took this poem – and I must say I wish I could write haiku. Although I’m a poet myself, haiku is the one form I can’t quite seem to get right. You did it beautifully – I’m jealous! 😉

Right, now off to eat an apple… you’ve made me hungry…

Hello! Thank you so much and enjoy that apple. Ha,ha! 😉 For a long time I was intimidated by this style of poetry because you have to create a picture and a story with three little lines. But now that I’ve tried it I can’t stop. I’ve always enjoyed reading them and now I love writing them. You should definitely try. Don’t be jealous, I still need much improvement, but I won’t stop trying. 😀

Thank you. I really do love it. Actually, I’ve always enjoyed reading haiku. I have a few friends that are really good writing them. I was always intimidated about writing them though. I’m glad I’m over it. 😉
