Haiku Friday & Criminal Minds

29 Nov

Hello! Welcome to my blog!

Ö

I’m a day late for this post. Sorry about that. I had a lot on my plate this week and I’m not talking about turkey and stuffing. Ha, ha! Get it . . . turkey and stuffing . . . never mind. I have always enjoyed reading haiku poems. Now, I’m enjoying writing them. They are so much fun to write and really get my creative juices flowing. That’s why I started Haiku Friday! Every Friday I will post a different haiku. I will feature my work, as well as haiku poetry written by others. I love infusing my haiku with a touch of horror, so most of my haiku will have a bit of a dark side.

Ö

One of my guilty pleasures is watching a show called Criminal Minds it’s one of my favorite TV dramas and the inspiration for this week’s haiku.

My favorite characters on the show are Dr. Spencer Reid, Hotch, and JJ but they’re all great.

Hi Sunni! I love this show. The cases they handle are really interesting and I love the chemistry between the actors. Try a couple of episodes. I bet you’d be hooked before long. 😉

Hi vashti! Just wanted to say happy belated thanksgiving! I tried to comment a few days ago but we lost power just as I was about to finish commenting! We got almost a foot of snow the day before turkey day. Winter came early this year :(.

Hello Doreen, I can’t believe the weather situation up north. All that snow already. I had a great Thanksgiving. Thank you. I hope your Thanksgiving was great too. I tried something different this year. I stuffed a turkey breast with spinach and feta cheese and the covered it in bacon so that it wouldn’t dry out in the oven. It was delicious. I hope the weather is a little milder today. 🙂 xx

Very good! I’ve watched it sometimes, although for some reason tend to catch it more when I visit my parents in Spain. I’ve recently been watching (it’s still on) ‘The Fall’ a BBC program with Gillian Anderson. Not sure if it has reached your shores but I recommend it. (I also greatly admire some of the Danish and Swedish ones, like ‘The Killing’ (the original), the whole 3 series, ‘Wallander’ (the British version isn’t bad either), and I love ‘The Bridge’ (so far 2 series). Oh, and the new ‘Sherlock’ by the BBC. I love it

Hi Olga! I like the BBC channel and I try to watch it whenever I can (Dr. Who, Sherlock . . .). I’ve watch a few episodes of Sherlock and I’ve really enjoyed it. I’m going to look into some of these other shows you mentioned. I find that some european shows have a touch of the weird (in a good way) which inspire me to write new and different stories. Thank you! 🙂

It’s been awhile since I’ve watched the show. I’ll participate in your fun haiku Friday this week and love your dark humour in your poetry.

Precious first haiku and the picture “Black Market” . By the way I love the title. It hit me right away with kidneys on the black market.
    Here are my few words:)

Illegaly obtained, even if with kidney stones they are not worthless after all.
Left on ice to save a life?
    Destroying perfect body
    at what price?

    Lost profit in the snow?
    Madness. Heartless.

    Suffering it has caused
    the Cold cold Kidney War
    The X-ray shows
what was found in the snow.

Your haiku says a lot in a few words.

I’m not a Criminal Minds watcher, I’ve changed my television viewing ways since becoming a mother. I was the kid who loved scary movies when I was younger, it scared my parents, but it made me laugh…. that’s totally changed.
I watch Resurrection, not scary, but good! It’s a mystery to me.
    XOXO

Hmm. Resurrection, yes, I’ve heard that it’s good. I’ll try to catch an episode or two and check it out for myself. What I enjoy about Criminal Minds the most is how the team of profilers can get into the killer’s head and solve each case by putting all the pieces of the puzzle together. They’re brilliant, and each one of them is important for the case. 😉

I love this show too but may commit blasphemy and suggest a bit of a makeover for Spencer – that hair is driving me nuts…..

Ha, ha! I liked his hair in the early episodes but now it just looks like a bird’s nest. I agree 100% with you. He has thick curly hair they need to let it be and stop trying to control it with all the hair products.
