Nature speaks . . .

Have you ever been deeply touched by a few well placed words? It happened to me. Everyone who knows me is aware of my love for nature. It’s a profound love.♥

It takes genuine talent to move people with few words and John Foster has got the skills. You let me know if I’m wrong after reading his poem ‘Soft Winds’. And if you enjoy his poem you can read more of his work on his blog, JOHN FOSTER.

Nature speaks without a tongue,
and sings with her every motion.
She moves with elegance unfelt,
save for the soft winds, to whose
song the tall trees dance.

        A flat peach, a crab apple, one asian pear, one european pear, and a medlar. The old apricot was killed by bugs a few years ago.

        What a little paradise you have there. May I come visit? Ha, ha! Oh, I love apricots! My heart breaks when a tree dies, especially from bugs.

        It was sad too. It produced more apricots than I could use. I bought a dehydrator right before it passed. Works on peaches though. Come on out.

        Oh! What a lovely sentiment. If you do travel to Israel someday (it’s on my ‘Bucket List’), would you be able to see the tree you paid for? Can you choose what type of tree to plant––olive tree, pistachio, sycamore . . .?

        well there would be 100’s of trees & whoever it’s for or in memory of would get a card saying a donation was made in your honor or in memory of your father…i don’t think you could see which tree.

    One great thing about the resort I work at is the wild life. Turkeys, bobcats, deer, racoons, alligators, and much, much more. The deer are my favorite along with the racoons although they are a pain to deal with. Super intelligent animals.

    I love the outdoors (if it’s warm, not winter). 🙂 We planted a pear tree, though it doesn’t grow the kind of pears you can eat, lol. It’s still pretty.

      Hello. I’ve never seen a pear tree in real life but I have seen them in pictures. They’re beautiful trees. Why can’t you eat the pears?

        I guess not all pear trees are the same. The kind we have only grows a small roundish fruit. It doesn’t taste good, but it’s still a pretty little tree. 🙂

        They do! The birds came back just before several bad snowstorms hit, and they were eating the left over fruit still on the tree. We put out some bird seed to help too. 🙂

    Mumbai is cramped for space- so I make do with a few potted plants. But I feel so rejuvenated in their presence.

    So nice to read a soft song to nature poem today. I needed that. We have planted a lot of trees and bushes around the yard over the years. Husband is currently obsessed with Rose of Sharon bushes.

      I’m glad you enjoyed the poem, Sue. You must have some nice scented breezes in your backyard. I didn’t know what ‘Rose of Sharon’ bushes were so I looked it up. They are lovely flower bushes. No wonder your hubby is taken by them.

    We only recently got a park on our little island. It is such a gift, one easy to take for granted really. As are trees, which are also rare on our windy island. We recently planted out a birch grown from seed. I checked it today and it has buds!

        Aw, thanks Vashti! It does feel like a small victory for us. Now, fingers are crossed it survives it’s first winter…maybe we’ll shelter it somehow. Ah, too far off to think about that today! 🙂

    Hi Vashti! Hope you’re well and so sorry I haven’t visited lately, but I’ve been thinking about you and wondering how things are going in your new home, I know it’s smaller than your previous one and was hoping the move went smoothly.

    As for me and nature, well, I guess you and I are very much alike in that regard. Nothing is quite like it imho. I’ve planted a few trees, but probably not enough.

      Hi Doreen! I have been missing you! I got the flu again. It’s a stubborn strain and being in the medical field plus dealing with a bunch of other things leave you open for getting sick. But I’m better now and trying to catch up with everyone myself. I haven’t been able to move into my new house yet because of delays in the renovations, but today we overcame a major hurdle so things should move along a lot faster.
      I knew you were a nature gal. It was great hearing from you! 😀 ❤ xx
