Haiku Friday – Vie & Reach

10 Apr

Hello everyone! Welcome to ‘Haiku Friday’! Another week, another challenge from RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge. Today’s prompt words are Vie and Reach.

I immediately thought of my work in progress, The Fall of Lilith. The Fall of Lilith is the first installment of my Fantasy Angels Series which should be out later this year (fingers & toes crossed). Anyway, this is what I came up with.

The Fall of Lilith

by Vashti Quiroz-Vega

She vies to be seen

Reaching for the pinnacle

She falls the hardest

“Her ruthless ambition for power and recognition led millions of angels astray.”

Do you enjoy reading? Do you read fantasy books? Do you believe in angels? Demons? Do you believe controversial books should be banned?

My new series has angels and demons in it too. Maybe we should do something jointly…. Great haiku

    Great Haiku Vashti.
I definitely believe in angels and demons, the spirit world. Yup. Science can not answer everything. Even though the new scientists and atheists would like to think so. There is a such thing as historical evidence as well.

Since I have read the book, I can say I know it will be a success. Your effort is so apparent in it. My current work, that I started some decade ago, involves aspects of Heaven and Hell, not as yours does, but I find it interesting how you, Olga, also a friend and colleague/team member of mine and I are working on things with at least similar aspects to them.

Great minds think alike, Ron. 😉 Ha, ha! Maybe it’s just time for this topic/storyline. I’ve been fascinated with angels my whole life. There are so many unanswered questions about them, although I’m not claiming to answer any of them with my book. The Fall of Lilith is a fantasy—strictly for entertainment. Thank you so much for the kind words.💖

What a great idea linking the haiku to a character in your book, may try that myself sometime!

Go for it! Ha, ha! Thank you. Yes, Lilith just popped into my head when I read the prompt words this week. It was fun writing a haiku about her. 🙂

Definitely believe in the spirit world…shame that humankind limits itself to what is seen or observable. 🙂
