The prompt words were quite difficult, at least for me, and I feel like I’ve cheated this week. You be the judge. 😉

I see it this way. You stick to your guns and you make it work. You do this with most of them…using words in a different context.
I think a good portion of people would have used hound as in a hound dog and made something simple. Well, I would like to think that people who consider themselves as writers would think outside the box but who knows…

You have probably noticed that I have been barely commenting lately. Do not worry…I have been reading. Posting…not so much. Work, family visits, and a bout of being ill have made me drop off the face of the earth the last month. Hoping to be back on track here like normal.

Aww. You’re so sweet. I understand. The amount of feedback and blogging tend to slow down a bit during the summer. Kids are out of school, people go on vacation, or have family comes over. My sister will be down from NYC the first week of August. I’ve been having issues with Comcast and my WiFi the last couple of months. I didn’t have any service today until a few minutes ago. It’s ridiculous––my WiFi comes and goes. Anyway, I appreciate your visits and your comments. Thank you so much! Have a great 4th of July weekend! 😀 xx

A very curious Haiku. It needed study. I feel connected to the inside of the words. She finds her elixir, even though bitter to the taste, it brings on relief. Maybe temporary, seeing as the illness is persistent. The image of the flowers fits perfectly with the words of your Haiku.
Isn’t it strange sometimes what creative thoughts enter one’s mind when being challenge to solve a word puzzle. Somehow one is led to the revelation. Notice sometimes the subconscious elements that surface. Maybe you are the only one that sees them but maybe others do as well. Just curious. jk xox a French Greeting

Hello Jennifer, the Hore-Hound is a medicinal flower which has a bitter milky substance that people can drink to cure different ailments. It is amazing the things your brain thinks of when you’re given these mix-matched prompts. I’m happy that you took the time to dig deeper and find a more profound meaning within the words. You’re very creative. 😀

Thank you for your comment and the information about Hore-Hound. It is true the words are mix-matched. Maybe that is what makes it so much fun to figure out how to use them. I took Ronovan’s advice on the the most recent and dug deep looking up definitions in several locations, even in the oddest of places. They gave me inspiration. There is something satisfying about coming up with a Haiku that appears to work. Thank you for your last comment about being creative. I try hard to find that place inside myself that releases the inspiration. It feels good when it works. You must feel the same when you feel your words are falling into space. You have the gift of creativity yourself. Your use of words are well expressed. I love the title of your blog: “The Writer Next Door.” It is appealing and a great play on words.
What a day I have today, so I better get to it. It has been a crazy week and will continue to be so until some things get resolved. Hanging in just the same.

Ron gave you good advice. That’s basically what I do and you’re right there is great satisfaction when words come together. Thank you very much for what you said about the title of my blog.
