Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. It’s Haiku Friday, and I must admit that this week’s prompt words, selected by Ronovan from RonovanWrites, have a fun and somewhat naughty tone. Well, Ron definitely knows how to challenge us every week with his selections. The prompt words this week are Bust and Must. Visit his blog and check out all the creative, fun, and cool haiku, and take part in his Haiku challenge. (New prompts every Monday)

I went back to my Horror roots for these haiku. I hope you like them.

Ha, ha! I went to a Halloween party once and the owner of the house had a bust of a monster by the door. I stopped to look at it and it started to move and roar! It scared the crap out of me (not literally). Ha, ha! It was motion-sensored and at the time there weren’t many of those around so it really jolted me. I thought of that incident and of the horror movie, Boxing Helena. Thank you so much my friend. It’s been a while since I’ve visited Google+. I really need to dedicate a day for it. Especially since my blog posts automatically post on there. I’m so happy to hear from you. 😀 ❤

I am so very disturbed… I can’t decide between the two. Nevermind, the second one is more disturbing. The end. (Well done.)

Of course by, “I am disturbed” what I actually meant to say was that these are disturbing to me. Alas, I may also be disturbed… 😉

No. I don’t think I’d make it through 10 minutes. Reading the IMDB was enough. *shudders*

Your first Haiku is scary as Hell. His eyes follow you. Great work putting the two together. Your second was unusual. It may have mixed in a touch with the creepiness of the first, but she is almost like a sculpture sitting posed on her platform. Well, done. Loved them both. How creative and inventive you were with the words ‘must and bust.’ jk 😎

Hello! The second haiku is based on a movie called, ‘Boxing Helena’ in which a crazy doctor removes the limbs of his crush and turns her into a living statue. Thank you so much for your kind words. 😀 xx

I saw that movie. Doesn’t Audrey from Twin Peaks play the lead? At a loss for her real name and I am an avid TPs fan. So that is why I felt a sense of creepiness filtering through. Wild. Your Haiku always amazes me. I look forward to your ‘Haiku Friday.’

I cheated. Her name is Sherilyn Fenn. Wow! I haven’t seen that movie in a while. You really do come up with some wild ideas. Love it! jk 😎

I initially thought u misspelt beast as bust in the first one .Then I got it by 2nd Haiku. Very apt images with apt words.
P.S- I was once chastised by 2 friends for not following the 3-5-3 Haiku rule. Is it a flexible rule?

Thank you. I use the traditional Japanese haiku style. There are no specific rules for writing haiku; however, the structure of haiku is always the same, including the following features: Only three lines, totaling 17 syllables throughout. The first line must be only 5 syllables. The second line must be comprised of 7 syllables which leaves 5 syllables for the 3rd and last line. 😉

Lovely. I’ll do my best to fit within rules, the next time around.

Sure. I don’t play by the rules, though. If 5-7-5 fits, then swell. If it doesn’t, well… too bad.
