Amen to distractions! Sometimes there are too many of them.

YES! I hear you, but that’s life. We have to learn to separate ourselves and get in the writing zone. 😉

Ha, ha! Good one. Crows are fascinating creatures to begin with, so it may be a good idea to write a story involving one or a murder. 😉

totally. When I saw this promt at first I had only bad images in my head so I gave them to my protagonist as a nightmare, and then came up with the Haiku on my blog. Lol. Crow’s are very fascinating, especially when you writing something darker.

Hello Serins! The prompt words this week had the opposite effect on me. I thought of cheery red robins or lovebirds. I figured most people would go that route, so I decided to go dark. I love exploring my dark side. I guess that’s why I’m a writer of horror. 😉

Hi Vashti, everything is inside our mind, no blockers, only lack of confidence and distractions like you said, you haiku describes it perfectly, the killing, the torture, the stress. Have a great Friday!

Wow, that’s quite the bird. A little creepy actually.
Have you ever heard of the book, “The War of Art”. It’s all about resistance when it comes to writing, and the need of a writer to come against that resistance and just write. No matter what. It’s quite an interesting book actually.
Have a fabulous weekend.

Most atmospheric! There is an unsettling Poe-like quality about it. I went for the cutsie saccharine birdy line in mine. ☺

Thank you TJ! Ha, ha! I think most people went in that direction and I almost did too and that’s okay. 😉

A murder of crows reminds me of an old Alfred Hitchcock movie. That was certainly a distraction to any hope of sleeping after seeing it that night.

Ha, ha! Many of Alfred Hitchcock movies were like that––not recommended before bedtime. 😉 I enjoyed the movie, The Birds.
