What a great group of quotes, Vashti! I love them all. Personally, I have failed forward in my life more times than not. I usually learn from my mistakes and move on… much wiser for the lesson. This was just such exceptional thoughts this week. Thank you! ❤

Great quotes Vashti. And yes, I totally believe it. People that just sit around waiting for something will end up becoming frustrated. Opportunities don’t just land in your lap. Of course, one opens themselves up to possible disappointment, but you won’t get anywhere if you don’t try.
There was a survey done amongst the elderly some time back. The question was what they most regretted from their lives. One of the top 20 answers was “not taking more risks” Hmmmmm… That says it all.
Hope you’re having a great week.
    🙂

Thank you Staci. You’re right, hard work, perseverance, and taking risks is the key to success. I don’t want to reach the ripe old age of 100 and regret not taking more chances in life. I’m going to go for it!
This week is flying by, probably because of Labor Day, but it’s been great so far. I hope yours is great too. 😀 xx

I totally believe that you have to be willing to try (and often fail) in order to succeed. I also believe that if you keep taking those risks, the rewards far outweigh the disappointments. Thanks for the inspiration x

I completely agree with you, Melissa. If you look into the history of successful people you will see perseverance as a common thread. 🙂

Absolutely, it is through failure or making mistakes that we learn and improve, both what we may be working on and ourselves. Without taking risks there would be no change.

Oh no, poor Michael Jordan! I can so relate, only I didn’t make it home…I locked myself in the locker room bathroom and cried silently after being cut from basketball team. Silly now, but the memory is still raw.

Fortunately, with age and such experiences comes the wisdom of knowing that when one door closes, a window opens elsewhere. Though it took me many years into adult hood to actually embrace failures and grow from them rather than dwell, I am happy to say, with a sigh of relief, that I am willing to experience failure.

Great question Vashti. I loved thinking this over and reflecting on my own journey of facing failure and how I handled it then vs now.

Thanks for relating your story, Melissa. I think most people have had a moment like that. I’m at a point in my life where I’m more afraid of missing something than I am of failing. I’m glad I gave you food for thought. ❤

Great quotes! Of course you have to be open to anything, even failure, but that’s how we all get better and improve ourselves. It takes determination for sure and someone who isn’t easily discouraged. We all must remember that we’ll never accomplish anything if we don’t try.

If we don’t try anything we will never discover anything new and there are so many things out there! Failure depends on the point of view. Trying is already a step in the right direction. Great quotes, Vashti!

I’m in good company or so.it seems! I haven’t made it big yet! I’m enjoying trying to get there one step at a time., if I have a few fails on the way well that’s to be expected. Just dust off and keep on trying. Nothing truly precious comes easily, you have to work at it.

Great quotes Vashti. I loved your famous failures and knew that Michael Jordan would be on the list. One of my favorite quotes is from Michael Jordan: “I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

Excellent quotes! J.K. Rowling is another famous “failure” who comes to mind. I reckon if you don’t dare to fail, you won’t succeed, either.

Hello Ann! I agree. If you always get what you want you won’t appreciate it as much. A little struggle is good. When you finally reach your goal it is that much sweeter. It is very nice to meet you too! Thanks for the visit. 😀
