15 Famous Books Inspired by Dreams
“Nightmares exist outside of logic, and there’s little fun to be had in explanations; they’re antithetical to the poetry of fear.”
~ Stephen King
Hmm, the image and the Haiku until the last line could lead elsewhere. Perhaps “Flamed filled fantasies”?

Ha, ha! Of course in your mind all roads lead there. 😉

I have a feeling you’ve been focused recently on nightmares, yes? Haha. I hope you’re not having any. The Haiku and photos fit so well together.

Hi Staci! Ha, ha! That’s been the theme this week. 😉 I do have nightmares––all the time. And very bizarre dreams too. I try to write down the gist of them as soon as I awaken even if its in the middle of the night sometimes. They inspire unusual and interesting stories. At least I think so. 😀 xx Have a great weekend!

Oh really? That’s not fun. You get lots of nightmares? Why do you think that is? Does it really bother you? I’m a huge wusey, so I would be super scared.
You also have an amazing weekend Vashti.

I do have nightmares from time to time. I wouldn’t say I have too many nightmares but I do seem to have more than the people I know. Honestly, most of the nightmares don’t bother me. The ones that freak me out are the ones that involve bad things happening to loved ones and those are few and far between. I usually get weird, eerie, and quirky nightmares and I’m okay with those. I think the reason I get so many vivid nightmares and dreams is because my mind is always on. I’m always trying to think of something new and different to write about and I think too much before falling asleep.

Hahahaha. I also think too much before falling asleep. I wish I was one of those people that was able to sleep earlier and wake up early, but I just can’t. Good thing I don’t have to be anywhere first thing in the morning 🙂

I’m a night person too, but I do try to go to bed at a reasonable time because I have to get up early. I’ve heard that if you do something 20 times in a row it becomes a habit. So if you’d really like to get up earlier. Set your alarm clock to an earlier time and get up when it rings. Do it for 20 days in a row and eventually your body will get used to it and you’ll get sleepy earlier and wake up earlier. 😉

Funny I can’t remember ever having had a bad nightmare … I very rarely remember dreaming even though I am sure I so … Good work once again Vashti x

Very imaginative Haiku. I related to your words and wake often to the heat of nightmares. It gives me a feeling of melting. Great imagery.

Nice Haiku, I really like the images–you always do a great job pairing them up 🙂 Stephen’s quote is great also; so easy to overthink. Sometimes things just is!
I don’t have nightmares, but do have really vivid dreams. Always intend to write them down but it’s a big commitment as it would mean waking up and I usually choose to just drift back to sleep.

Thank you! Wow, you’re the second person who says you don’t have nightmares. I thought everyone did. Yes, it can be a hassle to get up to write it. Lately, I’ve been recording what I remember with my iPhone that’s next to me on the night table. 😉

Hmmm..you are very good at these. And I rarely have nightmares either, not unless my mind has been in overdrive about something and I can’t turn it off. I always get up and write things down. It’s worth it to me.
And I don’t know about the advice of doing things 20 times to change a habit (such as setting the alarm clock to get up earlier). It doesn’t work for me. I’m a night owl and won’t get sleepy at night even if I’ve only had a couple hours of sleep the last few nights. The later the day gets the more I wake up. Mornings are hell, but I have to get up early somedays since I work PT now. I’m open to other suggestions.

Thank you very much, Sunni. I think that’s the problem with me––I can’t turn it off. I’m a night owl too. When I get up early a few mornings in a row, I tend to go to bed earlier and get a more restful sleep.
