RonovanWrites-Silver Threading-The Writer Next Door

It’s Writer’s Quote Wednesday! I hope everyone is doing well.

Welcome to my blog. Colleen Chesebro is a writer, poet, and book reviewer. She hosts an inspiring event every Wednesday on her blog, Silver Threading, called Writer’s Quote Wednesday. Anyone can participate by choosing a quote by a favorite writer and posting it on your blog. Check out her weekly wrap-up every Tuesday and be inspired by all the quotes.

Ronovan, from Ronovan Writes and Colleen have joined forces! He has been linking his #BeWoW blog share (Be Wonderful on Wednesday) now to include: Be Writing on Wednesday. If you would like to combine both posts feel free to do so and link them to Colleen’s post. She will make sure and add you to the quote wrap-up she does each Tuesday. Please make sure and check out Ron’s blog for more writing inspiration and motivation!

“We write every day, we fight every day, we think and scheme and dream a little dream every day. Manuscripts pile up in the kitchen sink, run-on sentences dangle around our necks. We plant purple prose in our gardens and snip the adverbs only to thread them in our hair. We write with no guarantees, no certainties, no promises of what might come and we do it anyway. This is who we are.”

There’s no better advice for writers and I’ll add read, read, read––a lot. 😉

I haven’t ever read anything by Tahereh Mafi but I love her quotes! Such flowing prose, my favorite part of this one is “…We plant purple prose in our gardens and snip the adverbs only to thread them in our hair…”

I can just see several authors wandering through a faery infested garden, snipping adverbs and dressing up in petals!

Hello! To be honest, I’ve never read anything by her either, but you’re right, I have read many great quotes by her. I love that sentence also, it struck me when I read it. Great imagery. 😀 xx

Hello Olga! Thank you. I’m going to make an effort to read something of hers because I like the way she thinks and expresses herself. 🙂 xx

Whoa! Yes, that’s dedication and commitment. Love the pic you put with the quotes. That’s great, the guy writing under water.
You know, practice makes perfect right. If you want to be good, an expert, excellent, etc in something, doing such thing almost daily is a very good habit to make that happen. I’ve started doing that with drawing. I’m not the best at it, but by this time next year I’m sure I will have grown leaps and bounds.
Hope you’re having a nice week Vashti.
    🙂

Hi Staci! You’re already a good artist, but you’re right, the more you practice the better you’ll get. I try to make time to write every day. Thank you! I hope you have a great Friday and weekend! 🙂 xx

Writing religiously will certainly make one a better writer, and then there are some gifted individuals, like you, who write with what seems like effortless abandon.

Never stop pursuing your passion and perfecting your craft Vashti!
