Miami-Christmas

This year, since we have 5 Wednesdays in December, let’s celebrate each Writer’s Quote Wednesday week by finding quotes from authors about Christmas.

quote-Writer's Quote Wednesday-The Writer Next Door

I love the Christmas holiday because of the way it makes me feel. Most people around me seem to be more charitable, patient, tolerant, and empathetic during this time of year. There’s a spirit of generosity and goodwill in the air. There are twinkly lights and colorful decorations everywhere you look. That part of you that sings, laughs out loud, makes you smile for no reason, giggle at the silliest things, and allows you take things in stride––comes alive. Suddenly, you don’t sweat the small stuff and you look forward to tomorrow with hope. I wish the spirit of Christmas could linger all year long.

Great quote! Yes it would be great if the spirit could last all year long, we’d certainly be closer to world peace that way.

Wow! Only three weeks. Where does the time go? I think it’s a great idea to do your Wednesday quotes as Christmas ones. I’ll be looking for them. 😉

Thanksgiving for me really got me thinking about how fortunate I am. Well, a trip to Brazil did really…Even if you are reading this from a public computer in a library you are fortunate. It may not feel that way but one is.

I like your photos Vashti! With the theme parks huddled to our west and O.I.A. to our south…we are not that tranquil here in Orlando during the holidays! Ha ha!

    Enjoy your week!

Love the last part of this quote–to “become more interested in people than in things.” This is truly what the season is about. I see Santa’s enjoying the warm weather. Ha ha! Lovely post.

Vashti, thank you so much for your fabulous quote by Thomas Monson. I was so excited that you chose a Christmas quote too. 😀 I do love how everyone is much nicer during the holiday season. It should be Christmas every month! Happy December! ❤

That would be nice if the spirit of the holidays could last all year long. Christmas is nice, of course, with all the twinkling lights and colors everywhere. But Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday because everyone, or most people, actually stops from the frenzy of life to give thanks for all of our blessings. We need to do this all year long in my opinion.

Blessings to you, Vashti, and thanks for the wonderful quote and great pictures.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday as well. I love the idea of giving thanks for what we have instead of the constant gripping about the things we want. I don’t like that they’re starting ‘Black Friday’ earlier every year. This year the ‘Black Friday’ sales and chaos began on Thanksgiving day (at least in south Florida). It’s like they’re telling people, ‘Forget about getting together with family and go shopping’! That’s sad.
Thank you so much Sunni! Blessing to you too. 🙂 ❤

Unfortunately Black Friday starts at a lot of places now on Thanksgiving day. It won’t be long and it’ll be starting the Friday before Thanksgiving day. Wait and see. It’s all about the money.

Aww. 😦 I know that Christmas has become so commercialized. So many people feel pressured into spending money they don’t have and some get very depressed when they can’t afford to buy things for their loved ones. That makes me very sad. I’ve felt that pressure too but I’ve learned through the years not to let it get to me.
