Happy Haiku Friday! Welcome and thanks for visiting. 😀
Ronovan from Ronovan Writes provided this week’s prompt words, Charm and Look. I love these words. Ron wanted us to try doing opposite meanings in our haiku this week. It was a challenge but I think I got it, if not I certainly had fun trying.
Ronovan is a writer and poet and he also does author interviews and much more. You can read some of his poetry and fiction pieces on his blog. He also hosts RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge every Monday. Anyone can participate. Check out his Haiku Prompt Challenge Guidelines for more information.

Looks like you got the opposites. They’re both excellent, think I like the first most, but truly, they send a similar message to me…beauty is definitely only skin deep, what’s on the inside is what matters most! Love Lilith’s two different coloured eyes. 😉 Have a fab weekend my friend. Xx

Yay! I’m so happy I was able to pull it off. Yes, although looks are important to a certain degree what’s inside is definitely most important. You have a fabulous week too! 😀 xx

A startling title, yet lovely photograph of The Suicide Tree. Made sense until I read your first Haiku. It quiets your heart into silence. In the second Haiku, Lilith has a powerful appearance. A witchy woman, but why a Soul repulsing? She was one of the Goddesses on my side of the field, supporting and actually an Amazon Woman in my mythology. I know you have written her character in a book from your current series. I am correct about this. Yes? Where do you take her character? If I may ask. Did I mention, I loved your Haiku. – jk 😀

Hello! I love questions because it means that you took time in trying to understand my point of view. Thank you for that.
The first haiku, The Suicide Tree, speaks of the actual tree. This tree’s poison is potent and blocks the calcium ion channels in heart muscle, causing disruption of the heart beat, most often fatally. The taste can easily be masked by spices and the toxin is very difficult to detect in autopsies because of these reasons this poison is a widely used agent for homicide and suicide. That’s what I’m trying to express in my first haiku.
Lilith is both protagonist and villain in my book. She’s a powerful character. The story begins with the angels as children growing up in a strictly regimented Heaven. They were granted free will by God and access to oversee other beings from different planets but they still had to adhere to the strict rules. Throughout the story they develop into individual young adults shaped by experiences they’ve had and choices they’ve made. In the end the angels are divided and civil war ensues in Heaven. It’s an intricate story and the characters, especially Lilith are complicated. One minute you’ll love her and the next you’ll hate her. She does use her sexuality and looks to manipulate others.
I hope I was able to answer your questions. 🙂

Definitely clarified. The Suicide Tree sounds bloody dangerous. It tempts the taster.
You story from the book on a strict Heaven is intriguing. And Lilith goes back and forth in the positive and negative. I hope the angels who want a freer Heaven win.
I am in the middle of formulating what you call Heaven. I have a different term. The novel/screenplay I am working on, I am working on someone who trying to decide if they want to go to this place.
An interesting fantasy to write about not knowing the specifics of what is really there.
Thanks for filling me in. I will be by later this weekend to see what you came up with the latest words. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Wow! it’s almost over 2015. That’s ok. I want to see what 2016 has ahead. Wild, I can’t wait. 🙂

Human beings are complicated beings. I wanted my angels to be similar in that sense. I’m intrigued by your fantasy story. I wish you all the best with it. Not knowing the specifics of what Heaven is truly like makes it all the more fun––that’s what world building is for. 😉 My schedule has been thrown off by all the festivities going on right now. I’m trying to get back on schedule this week. Today is the last Sunday of 2015, but like you I look forward to what 2016 has to offer. All the best to you and your loved ones. ❤

I somehow needed to read what you wrote. It made me feel understanding. We each examine the imaginary world we create. I love to daydream and create possibilities than maybe no one else has thought of in the way I or you are doing right now. Our Heavens or other sides may be different but somehow they are joined in some way.
I believe I may have created my last post for 2015 and have ventured into 2016 already with a start on new adventures in poetry and enlightening way.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2016. May it be the best yet to come. And the discoveries in our selves and how far we reach, may it be to the outer stars just beginning their journey. They will be our guides to new thoughts and feelings and stories we are only beginning to unfold. All the best to all and may love and peace be your dream come true.
