Welcome everyone to Writers Quote Wednesday! Today’s theme is Obsession. So what is obsession? It’s an idea or thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person’s mind.

Colleen Chesebro is a writer, poet, and book reviewer. She hosts an inspiring event every Wednesday on her blog, Silver Threading, called Writers Quote Wednesday Writing Challenge. Anyone can participate by choosing a quote by a favorite writer then, write a short piece of flash fiction or poetry to share with us all. You can include photos, photo quotes, or anything else that helps to highlight your quote. Have fun with it! This week’s theme is OBSESSION.
Thanks, Vashti. In my case I start slowly and at some point it becomes a frenzy… Love your writing inspiration board…

Writing IS an obsession… Do you write in your sleep?

Ha, ha! Sometimes it does take me a while to fall asleep because my brain is busy banging on my internal keyboard. 😉 Do you?

I think I write more in my sleep. Now, if I could only figure out the notes I take, I’ll just bet NYT best seller is in there somewhere

Well, I can certainly say that about my dreams. If only I could invent a machine that could hook up to my brain, via EEG leads, and record my dreams and nightmares––they are so strange and fascinating. I’m sure there’ll be a Tim Burton movie in there somewhere (starring Johnny Depp of course). Ha, ha! 😉

Ohhhh, great post Vashti. It is so YOU. I love the last point in that circle one – ‘bleeding’.
Hope you’re having great Wednesday, and please have a lovely evening too.

Hi Staci! How’s the ‘Queen of Poetry’ today? I’m happy you enjoyed the post. When I was searching for today’s quotes I came across one I’m sure you would like but it didn’t fit today’s theme, but I thought it was pretty cool though.
“Red is such an interesting color to correlate with emotion, because it’s on both ends of the spectrum. On one end you have happiness, falling in love, infatuation with someone, passion, all that. On the other end, you’ve got obsession, jealousy, danger, fear, anger and frustration.”
~Taylor Swift
Have a great rest of the week! ❤ xx

It must be an obsession in order to make the characters live and the story to take you on a journey.

Hi Yolanda! That is so true. I don’t think it could work any other way. 🙂 xx

Looks about right, about not writing causing anxiety, that is.

Yes, I could really relate to that one too.

Vashti,
How right you are. My husband always says I’m obsessed about things I undertake. He can’t understand it and thinks it’s abnormal behavior. He isn’t a writer though, or a reader. Sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever finish my book series with such limited time to work on it. I’m rewriting book one of a trilogy and haven’t gotten very far. However, I’ve not given up.

Non-writers or people that are not creative will have a hard time understanding us creative folk. Don’t ever give up on your writing! 🙂 xx

Hi Jade! Thank you, I’m glad you liked them. I did the word graphics myself on a site called Festisite. It’s a lot of fun. Here’s the link in case you’d like to try it. https://www.festisite.com/text-layout/spiral/

Writing has ALWAYS been natural to me. ALWAYS. I remember when I was younger, I would write novels … I remember writing books with up to 50 chapters. NO IDEA what they were about anymore, lol, but I remember being so proud and honestly, my mom was actually really proud of me too!
Funnily enough, I hated reading!

Hi GiGi! That shows that you’ve always had a great imagination and have always been creative. Wouldn’t it be great to read what you wrote back then? As a kid, I would write and draw comic books and sell them to kids at school. 😉 Have a great weekend, my friend!
