Pie and Dust are this week’s prompt words chosen by Ronovan Hester of Ronovan Writes. Here’s my attempt for this week’s words Pie (sweet) and Dust . . .
♦
Temptation is sweet
My body pleads like a child
The dust then settles
Followed by sting of regret
I broke my diet again!
Last week I didn’t get a chance to post ‘Haiku Friday’, so this is what I came up with last week’s words Sing and Flower
♦
Little flower sleeps
Curled up like a tiny seed
Dreaming of singing
In the morn the sun will shine
Stretch up tall and sing your song

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Oh temptation… Thanks for both poems. Love the flower one (and the other one although it’s too close for comfort :)) Have a great weekend, Vashti

Ha, ha! Too close for comfort, huh? It’s definitely a struggle. I’m happy you liked the poems. You have a fantastic day and weekend too. 😀 xx

That’s awesome! With the first one I wanted to guide the mind toward one thing and then surprise with something unexpected. Not sure if I achieved that, but I tried. 😉 ❤

Two beautifully strong haiku! Imagery that nearly breaks into the 3rd dimension. Wonderful, wonderful ❤

I am trying to be on a sugar free diet – I can SO relate to your first haiku!

Ha, ha! It can be difficult at times. I love fruit and they usually sustain me but occasionally chocolate can really be tempting.

Hi Vashti
I love reading your posts 😍😍😍 very apt the naughty but nice sensation you get when you indulge in your favourite pastry or cake, then the dreamy flow of words of sing and flower. Thank you for sharing X X X

When the dust settles after indulging in the pie comes the regret. Great haiku you carve here 🙂

These are really good. I also love that artwork. For some reason, now I want to watch Rocky Horror again.

Thank you! Ha, ha! I can see why ‘Rocky Horror’ would come to mind. The big red lips, maybe? 😉

Oh dear, I know that sting of regret! Great, relatable haiku. And I can just see the sunflower rising up in response to the second haiku.

Those RED lips and how just lips could show proper reaction is amazing…you give life to them. I love the Haiku. Inbtw: were you really ‘watching’ the weight? LOL

Isn’t it amazing how expressive lips/mouth can be? The artist Sara Pope did a great job capturing that. Aww. Thank you for giving me so much credit. 🙂 Always . . . always watching the weight. It’s an American obsession.

The first haiku made me giggle…can so relate!! And the second made me smile, beautifully poetic, human flowers. Trying to decide which flower I might like to be…
