Haiku Friday – Beach & Time

The Writer Next Door-Vashti Q-Haiku Friday-friday-haiku-Poetry

Happy Haiku Friday and a warm welcome to my blog!

Beach and Time are this week’s prompt words chosen by Ronovan Hester of Ronovan Writes.

Ron hosts a challenge that anyone could participate in called Ronovan Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge every Monday, and you have until Sunday to create a post featuring your haiku poem. He is an author and poet and also does author interviews and much more on his blog. Be sure to check it out. Read Ron’s Haiku Prompt Challenge Guidelines for more information.

Lots of people seem to be in a hurry to say goodbye to summer. There are things I enjoy about all the seasons but I’m not in any rush to go from one to the other. It seems that summer isn’t ready to leave south Florida yet, anyway. There are 13 days of summer left, so I’m planning a few more trips to the beach. 😉

Thirteen days remain

To enjoy nature’s playground

Still time for the beach

I walk on the beach

Time stands still as the ocean

sings song of summer

Happy weekend to you, Vashti. I wish I had a beach to go to. Miss that since moving from CA.

Hi Sunni! Living in Florida and being surrounded by water it’s easy to forget that are people who don’t have access to the beach. I feel the same way about the mountains sometimes––I miss mountains and hills. Florida is so flat.

Next summer we’ll go to other beaches too, so that you can get a taste of all the different ones. It was nice and peaceful there and I loved it that Scribbles got to go and swim in the ocean too. 😉

Oh thank you! You can get your own avatar in your likeness and make your own memes with the Bitmoji app. It’s pretty cool. I have so many plans for autumn too but in the meantime I’m headed to the beach while I still can––before the jellyfish invade. 😉

So true, these are sweet reminders to enjoy what we have left of summer! I will miss this warm season. If only autumn could be warm, while being colorful too.

Lately, I’ve been craving time at the beach. I can’t lie though, I’m already in fall mode. It doesn’t feel like summer here.

I guess it does depend where you’re at. It’s still hot and humid down here, so the beach is very refreshing and a way to cool off. Enjoy whatever season you’re tuned in to. 😉 xx

I enjoyed my summer and hated to see it end. It was the first (and probably the last) summer I was home with all three of my children.

Awww. It’s great that you’ll always have those wonderful memories with your kids, but never say never. Your kids may surprise you and come together again to spend another summer with you. 🙂

Hi Vashti. Long time eh. I was off for a couple of months.
I’m a huge summer fan myself, although we don’t really get a real winter here. Our winter has definitely finished and Spring has sprung. I would love to go to the beach. This last week I had to settle for a pool. Haha.
I hope you are doing well. Are ya?
    🙂 ❤

Hello my friend! Welcome back. Yes, I remember you saying that you would be away for a while. I hope everything went well for you. I’m doing fine, very busy and just trying to keep up. It’s lovely to hear from you again and I look forward to your drawings and poetry. ❤ xx

Vashti, I can more than empathize with you on being busy. Me too.
Thanks on the kind welcome back. I just returned this week on Monday actually. Let’s see how often I’ll be able to blog. Hahaha. Hopefully I will be able to post once a week.
        Have a wonderful day.
        🙂 ❤

Hi Vashti in the U.K. The weather is so unreliable but the lighter evenings are a bonus. Thank you for sharing x X X

Hi Jaye! The weather in south Florida is pretty unreliable at times too. We wake up to a bright sunny, beautiful day and then suddenly it’s storming and grey. Oh, you’re so welcome. Hugs&Kisses ❤
