Writers Quote Wednesday – FAREWELL

21 Sep

Welcome! It’s Writers Quote Wednesday sponsored by Colleen Chesebro of ‘Silver Threading‘ and Ronovan Hester of ‘Ronovan Writes‘. Anyone can participate by choosing a quote by a favorite writer then you may add artwork, photography, a short piece of flash fiction or poetry to share with us all. You can add anything you like to highlight your quote. Have fun with it!

The theme this week: FAREWELL chosen by Colleen & Ronovan.

The Writer Next Door-Vashti Q-Writers Quote Wednesday-quotes

There’s a reason for this theme. It’s Colleen and Ron’s way of announcing that they will no longer host the ‘Writers Quote Wednesday Challenge’. It’s a sad day for today is the last day of the challenge and the last day of Summer too. The reason they’ve ended the challenge is because they have books to write and I completely understand. I suppose I could continue ‘Writers Quote Wednesday’ but the truth is I have books to write also and I could use more time, so this too will be my last ‘Writers Quote Wednesday’ post. At least for now, I will continue ‘Haiku Friday‘ but I want to dedicate more time to my Fantasy Angels Series. I will keep you updated on my progress with that. Thank you for visiting my blog and for all the lovely comments. I appreciate you all.

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

~ Dr. Seuss

“People don’t notice whether it’s winter or summer when they’re happy.”

~ Anton Chekhov

“By all these lovely tokens September days are here, With summer’s best of weather And autumn’s best of cheer.”

~ Helen Hunt Jackson

“Summer’s gone today; I wished a wish that it would never go away,
but summer told me it couldn’t stay.
So I said my goodbyes, with tear-filled eyes,
and waved my farewell to the blue summer skies.”

~Elizabeth Heller

“There shall be eternal summer in the grateful heart.”

Vashti, I love your haircut and it looks so gorgeous darker! I am still in the editing stage. At the rate I’m going, I’ll be lucky to publish my book this spring! LOL! Ah, well. What do you do? KEEP writing and do stop by and write some Tankas with us. Many hugs. ❤

Thank you for the compliments, Colleen! You’re so sweet. Believe me I completely understand. I’ve been thinking about taking a break for a while now too, so that I can finally finish what I’m working on. It’s so difficult to juggle it all. I will keep writing and I may stop in from time to time to write some Tanka. Hugs&Kisses ❤ xx

I agree with Colleen about your hair. I enjoyed the quotes but after participating a couple of times I found I didn’t always remember to plan or didn’t find anything I found interesting, and yes, there are so many calls on our time. Good luck with the series!

Aww. I completely understand. All the promotion, and my own hosting duties really eat into my time. I haven’t accomplished much beyond short fiction all summer long.

We certainly will, Jacqui. I’ve been thinking for a while to stop. I’ve been juggling too many things and I really need more time for writing which is what it’s all about for me. 😀 xx

I can understand not having enough time to juggle it all because I find myself in the same place. It’s hard to accomplish much when you juggle too many things.

It’ll take me a bit to get used to your new hairstyle and color. That’s a surprise. You’re so pretty I bet any hair color would look good on you.

We have rain here and cooler temps tonight and tomorrow so that’s appropriate for fall. I wish summer would last forever though. Have a great week.

You’re right, when you try to spread yourself out too thin everything suffers.
I go back and forth between blonde and brunette. I was a blonde for many years and being a natural brunette my hair suffered for it, so I decided to give it (and my pocket $$) a well deserved break. Thank you for the sweet compliment but between you and me I admire people that look good as redheads because I certainly don’t.
I love summer but I am looking forward to cooler and less humid days and nights. The mosquitos will be gone soon and I love hiking, kayaking and cycling in cooler weather. Of course when I say ‘cooler weather’ I mean 60-70ºF.
You enjoy the rest of the week. Hugs&Kisses ❤

I sincerely wish it never got below 60 here. Dec and Jan will be WAY below that, but I should be thankful it’s only those two months that are really bad. After Thanksgiving I count the days until spring.

My schedule is my greatest nemesis at this time as well. So I hope you have no problems with your series and you find the extra time to be prosperous!

I too have to add that I like the new hair color and style!

    Have a great week!

Hi Steve! It’s great to hear from you. I’m going to create a writing schedule and organize myself better to make the most of my time. Of course I have to include working, exercising, reading, cooking, and a million other things as well. Ha, ha! I can do this.
Thank you! It’s actually taking a little time for me to get used to the style and color but I’m getting there.
You have a great rest of the week too! 😀 xx

You look stunning and the quotes are great. I hate to see Writers Quote end. Any interest in collaborating with others to keep it going?

Hi Bernadette! Thank you very much! I have to be honest and say that I felt a little insecure in my decision to go brunette and cut my hair but now I’m feeling better about it. Thanks for that.
I love quotes and I will probably use quotes with my ‘Haiku Friday’ posts and other posts as well. You can actually take over ‘Writers Quote Wednesday’ if you like by posting some of your favorite quotes on Wednesdays. It could be your thing now and if others want to join in that would be great too. ❤ xx
