Haiku Friday – LOVE & LIGHT

10 Feb

Love and Light are this week’s prompt words chosen by Ronovan Hester of Ronovan Writes.

Ron hosts a challenge that anyone could participate in called Ronovan Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge every Monday, and you have until Sunday to create a post featuring your haiku poem. He is an author and poet and also does author interviews and much more on his blog. Be sure to check it out. Read Ron’s Haiku Prompt Challenge Guidelines for more information.

Amidst the darkness

Came an incandescent light

To guide you to love

Sorrow visits me

And sits upon my rib cage

To hinder my breath

Through eyes blurred with tears

I noticed an old image

And cast off the woe

*

His sweet face in a photo

His smile fixed in time

He will forever live in our hearts

Have a good weekend.

Vashti, even in your grief you write so well and so movingly. This beautifully encapsulates the fluctuating emotions and lends an air of hope beyond all that is currently being experienced. And in and of itself, this poem stands as a lovely tribute to the man who helped to make you the woman you have become. Blessings and hugs to you! xo ❤

Your words are always lovely and soothing, Joy. Writing has been a much needed crutch for me during this time and so has reading.😘

It was my pleasure, Brandi. Really? You must have gone to a cool school because I never wrote haiku in school. 😉 Thank you!

Vashti, I’ve been away for a while. Just slowly returning now that we’re back home in Brazil. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Was it your father? At times like these there are no words.
    Hugs ❤
