Wonder and Spy are this week’s prompt words chosen by Ronovan Hester of Ronovan Writes.

When fallen angels

drop to earth, their wings torn off

How do they evolve?

Childlike wonder turn to fright

When revealed they’re doomed to night

UPDATE: Right now I’m doing the finishing touches to my book, The Fall of Lilith. I’m working on the blurb for the back of the book, dedication page and a few other things. I have the illustration for the book cover, which is something I’m very excited about. I’m planning a post featuring the illustrator’s work, along with a book cover reveal. My goal is to release the book before summer.

    A very haunting poem! You really convey the shock and sadness when the truth is found out by the fallen angel. Your book sounds intriguing…

    Blessings to you and have a wonderful Easter, though I know a holiday is harder when we’ve lost loved ones. Saying a prayer for comfort for you as it hasn’t been that long.

    Sad and sobering thought.. how, indeed? Vashti, you encompass so much emotion in so few words, and also succeed in drawing us deeper into the power of the story you are weaving. I agree with Gayl, your book sounds inviting and intriguing! You always leave the reader wanting to know what happened next.

    (As an aside: Reading jaye22’s comment above, my instinct was very much, “No, no, it’s ‘champing’, not ‘chomping’,” but apparently both spellings work and are in common usage.)
