Haiku Friday – Nightmare & Horror

29 Dec

Hi, everyone! Welcome!

My best friend, Sophia won’t stop wailing and howling in the middle of the night. “It burns, it burns!” she screams. I visit her at her mother’s house, where her ashes are kept in an urn, but it doesn’t help.

Night terrors visit

Sleep’s become a memory

I fear the darkness

The blue in his eyes

became the new shade of my

nightmares––Don’t wake me.

Nightmare and Horror are this week’s prompt words chosen by Ronovan Hester of Ronovan Writes.

He is an author and poet and also does author interviews and much more on his blog. Be sure to check it out. Read Ron’s Haiku Prompt Challenge Guidelines for more information.

Have a wonderful New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, everyone!

I had to read the beginning of that a couple times… Ooh, well played. You have a talent for this horror thang. Ever consider writing a book? (just me being strange) Happy New Year to you, my friend. Looking forward to what you write!

My husband had to read it a couple of times too. I think you both have analytical minds. I hope it had the jolting effect I was going for anyway. Aw, thank you very much. I look forward to your writing, as well. ❤

Ah, ha, ha! I’m sorry, my friend. I didn’t think the gif would be that scary. You’ve met some of the characters in the picture, like Fornues, Dagon and Samael. Thank you and have a wonderful New Year’s Eve! ❤
