Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well. Last week my husband was sick with the flu, and guess what? That’s right, now I have it. My body fought it for a while but finally gave in. So this weekend, I will be spending a lot of time indoors curled up with a book.
Shy and Blush are this week’s prompt words chosen by Ronovan Hester of Ronovan Writes.
Ron hosts a challenge that anyone could participate in called Ronovan Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge every Monday, and you have until Sunday to create a post featuring your haiku poem. He is an author and poet and also does author interviews and much more on his blog. Be sure to check it out. Read Ron’s Haiku Prompt Challenge Guidelines for more information.

You are the reason
behind my blossoming cheeks
Your eyes tell me things

Since we met, I am
unable to stop blushing
Is it your shy smile?

Wishing you a speedy recovery, but there is something to be said for curling up with a good book, under a comfy blankie and telling the rest of the world to call some other time. Oh, and I love the haiku! ❤

Thanks for the kind wishes, buddy. I’m a slow reader, so there’s no way I’ll read six books, but I am taking advantage and getting in as much reading as possible (between naps). I’m happy you enjoyed the haiku. ❤

That’s right! I’ve been reading quite a bit. Unfortunately, I’ve also been sleeping a lot. I suppose your body needs to sleep in order to recover. Thanks for the well wishes. 😀 xx

Oh, no! 😥 Hope you feel better soon. My parents are just now recovering after two weeks of being quarantined inside their house. Drink lots of bone broth and rest up. xoxo

I’m sorry to hear your parents are sick. I’m happy they’re recovering well. This flu is especially tough on the elderly and children. I haven’t allowed my mom to come by and see me, because I don’t want her to catch it. Yes, my throat is sore, so I’ve been drinking plenty of chicken bone broth. I feel like I may be growing feathers soon. Thank you for the well wishes. You’re so sweet. ❤ xx

My parents quarantined themselves for two weeks because they didn’t want anyone to catch what they got. I wish more people were that considerate. Hope you are back to feeling healthy. 🙂

Oh no! I’m sorry you’re sick. The first couple of days I could hardly lift my head off the pillow, but then I was able to curl up in bed or on my sofa and read. I’m feeling better. Thank you. I hope you have a quick recovery. ❤

I hope you’re feeling better soon, Vashti. The flu got me on Tuesday and it kicked my butt. Nasty stuff. I’m coming around now, but fatigue is a constant struggle.
I really enjoyed your haiku, as always. Thanks so much for sharing. 🙂

Hello Natalie! I’m sorry to hear that you got the flu too. Wow, it’s really going around. I’m doing better, except this cough just doesn’t want to go away and I know what you mean about feeling fatigue. I’ve been dragging my feet all week. I’m happy you enjoyed the haiku. Thank you. Wishing you a speedy recovery. ❤
