Hi, everyone! Welcome.
My trip to Japan was all about adventure and exploration. We hiked for miles and climbed many steps to see extraordinary architecture, sculptures, art and amazing views of nature. I actually lost 8 lbs. during this vacation. I have to say that all the hiking and climbing was well worth it.

I never made it to the “Orient” but my hubby was stationed several places: Thailand, the Philippines, Korea, etc. From what I heard, I would love Japan. Excellent shares of your visit. I’m loving the tour through your eyes. ❤

That’s wonderful, Colleen. This was my first visit to Japan. I had never travelled this far east. I’m sure Thailand, the Philippines and Korea are wonderful places to visit as well. I have my eye on an incredible cave that I did research on for my book, The Fall of Lilith in Vietnam the Hang Son Doong. And I’d also love to visit the Salt Flats in northwestern Utah which inspired one of the worlds in my new book, Son of the Serpent. As long as I have the health and energy I will travel and explore. I love it. ❤

What wonderful pictures. That bamboo forest looks so inviting. I’m going to have to write something like that into a story.

Hi Craig! It was an amazing feeling to walk amidst the tall bamboo forest. I loved the smell. It was subtle but I enjoyed it. It was just after midday, so the sun was fierce but the bamboo kept the weather in there mild. Nature is amazing. The bamboo forest would make an excellent setting in a story. 😀

Hi Jill! Thank you! In the end I missed my little dog, Scribbles too much and wanted to come home. But Japan is an amazing country with great people and I look forward to returning sooner rather than later. The bamboo forest was definitely a sight to see. 😀 xx

I know, Vashti! My husband and I went on a hiking with my daughter, her hubby carrying the baby. It was raining and we walked on a muddy path. I didn’t know I could hike in such a condition because I hadn’t done it for a long time. After that, I know I could do it. ❤ xox

Thank you for the pictorial treat along with the poems you share every week Vashti. I love both. My favorite is the one of forest with long trees and sun peeping through a small clearing. Is it a bamboo forest?

Hi Balroop! Yes, it’s a bamboo forest. That was a wonderful hike and although it was the middle of the day it didn’t feel as hot while we were in there. It’s a beautiful place. You’re very welcome. It’s my pleasure. Thank you for visiting and for your kind words. ❤ xx

What an atypical holiday, losing weight instead of gaining!!! I know a number of people that should be prescribed a holiday in Japan😁. The pictures are amazing. The bamboos must have been overwhelming… both in their numbers and height. The poem is also lovely.👌
