Welcome, everyone! Thank you for visiting.
Influence and Perception are this week’s prompt words chosen by Colleen Chesebro ~ The Fairy Whisperer.
*The catch is that we can only use the synonyms to these words in our poems.
Colleen hosts a challenge that anyone could participate in called, Colleen’s Weekly Tanka Tuesday Poetry Challenge every Tuesday, and you have until Sunday to create a post featuring your Haiku, Tanka, Haibun, Etheree or Cinquain poem. She is an author and poet, and also does book reviews and so much more on her blog. Be sure to check it out.

When your soul is bared
the judgment of others is
so often unfair.
Don’t let their opinions
control the way you reason.
◊
You’re criticized by
what makes you unique––
opinions, not facts.
You know you’re doing something
right when people are talking.

Well, to be able to put a big smile on your face would make my day. You have been very kind and supportive to me and I never forget the ones that have helped me on my journey. Vashti’s books are incredible reads written by a sweet, kind, generous woman who I have had the privilege to know, Peter James Ford author of ‘Mysticism in Newburyport’ 🙂

Thank you, Yes, I have learnt a lot about this process of being an Indie author and I will always pass/forward to support all new or old Indie authors. I have found such a great community for me and I am very grateful. I was pleasantly surprised to find such kind, helpful people and I feel safe enough to let down my guard. This is the type of people I want in my life, like you. Thanks for always pointing me in the right direction with great advice. I truly enjoy seeing your career take off, I see you in so many venues now, it is great, your friend, Peter

You’re right. We can’t let others’ opinions of us control the way we reason. Each of us has to follow a path that makes sense for our circumstances.

I forgot what actor once said he didn’t mind when people stopped him for autographs… it would bother him when they would STOP!

I agree with you Vashti, you would be criticised only if you do something different or unique. In fact I believe that critics are best friends, as they acquaint us with our imperfections.
Wishing you a wonderful summer.

Well said, Vashti. Too often judgement and opinions are made long before all the facts are known or considered. You are a talented and supportive author. Keep on doing what you do! Enjoy your summer!
