Hello, everyone! Today is National Vodka Day, National Body Language Day, and World Smile Day. So, I thought I’d combine all three in my poem. Today’s poetry form is called a Shadorma.
The Shadorma is a Spanish poetic form made up of a stanza of six lines (sestet) with no set rhyme scheme. It is a syllabic poem with a meter of 3/5/3/3/7/5.
Drink with me
Tantalize your tongue
Then kiss me
and hold me
You’re the book I long to read
A story of love
Wet your lips
with your sweet cocktail
Drink to life
Drink to love
Let your sexy body show
You want me the most

I hope you enjoyed the Shadormas. I’m not a big drinker at all, but when I drink, I like a little vodka or brandy. What do you enjoy drinking?
I’m finally getting the hang of this new editor. Although I still have a lot to learn. At least it didn’t take me as long as the last time to put this post together, which gives me more time to write (#revising). Happy Friday, everyone!

Well, I picked a fine time to be sober, celibate and sloppy… Fine job woman, have a great time (or two, after all, it IS the weekend)

Ah, ha, ha! I can’t remember the last time I had a drink either. I think it might have been a glass of wine with dinner when I visited my sister in New York. I’m not sure, but all this talking about vodka has got me a little thirsty. Maybe I’ll join you this weekend. 😉 xo

Great combination of all these ‘day’ events and leaves me smiling! Superb writing and love the images! Not a huge vodka fan but celebrating a friend’s new home tonight with a bottle of champagne! 😀 Well done working with the new editor … I took the plunge a while ago to much consternation and frustration! In the end it makes sense but makes certain tasks more laborious. Wishing you a wonderful weekend, Vashti! 🍾🍹

Thank you very much, Annika! Well, it looks like you’re going to have a great night. Thank you for giving me hope. This editor can be frustrating at times. You have a fantastic weekend too! 😀 xo

I love the sound of this line: Tantalize your tongue.
Confession: I’ve never had vodka. I like the occasional beer, but most of the time a plain ol’ cup of coffee is my choice beverage.

I rather have water or tea to quench my thirst, but vodka makes terrific cocktails if you’re ever in the mood. What I find great about it is that when mixed with juice or whatever its flavor is masked with ease – you don’t taste the liquor. It can be quite insidious. 😉 xo Have a great weekend!

This is a really good poem, Vashti. I drink the occasional glass of white wine or brandy and coke.

Thank you, Robbie! I love a little brandy in my hot cocoa on a chilly night, during the holidays. Have a lovely weekend! 😀 xo

Cheers to that, Vashti! A delightful poem to share and much to celebrate. 🙂
PS. I enjoy a slushy vodka with pomegranate juice. Cheers, my friend!

I enjoy the odd cocktail or glass of wine but I’m not a big drinker either Vashti. Lovely poetry. 🙂

I think having an occasional cocktail is more festive for us because we don’t drink every day or every week. I’m glad you enjoyed the Shadormas. 😀 xo

Nice job, Vashti. When I drink I choose between bourbon, gin, tequila or IPA . I have wine with every meal but only one stronger drink once a week.

Ha ha ha, I should have said wine with dinner every day. (Breakfast wine might be hard to take)

Ah, ha, ha! Somehow I pictured it as dinner. 😉 Breakfast wine sounds awful, but I’ve known people to drink Bailey’s Irish cream or Kahlua with their coffee.

Bourbon, gin, tequila . . . Those are some powerful spirits, John. I’m not sure what IPA is, though. Cheers!

I enjoyed this poem. I’ve been curious about this type of poetry. I haven’t drank in 20 years or so but I used to enjoy Kailua or a good white wine. Have a great weekend Vashti xo

Thank you, Denise! I’m happy you enjoyed the Shadormas. You should try writing a few syllabic poems. I’m sure you’d be so good at it. Happy Sunday! ❤ xo

What a delightful poem and mashup of topics Vashti! I like this Shadorma form and might try to write one also. I rarely drink anything, but I feel a thirst coming on. 🙂

Did I tempt you to have a drink? Ha, ha! Thank you very much. I’m so glad you liked the Shadormas. Go for it! I love the flow of this form of poetry. 😀

I love this poem! When I’m cheating, I love margaritas and Malibu & Pineapple, but those both have SO much sugar. Normally, I just have a glass of red wine, but I also enjoy Edy’s Lemon Vodka and water. It’s low on the calories and high on the kick. Lol! 😉

I’ve made “White Sangria” with Pinot Grigio (only 122 cal.), Sprite Zero (0 cal.), and pieces of green apple, strawberries, and cucumber for my friends and me on occasion. I’m so happy you enjoyed the poem! I’ve tried Malibu & pineapple––so scrumptious, but you’re right, too much sugar and calories. Happy Sunday! ❤

I really don’t get poetry, but this was wonderful. I usually drink beer, and the variety these days is astounding. I like to try different ones when we go out. I’m also partial to the occasional glass of whiskey. I like the images you chose today. You have a good eye for images.

I’m always thrilled when someone who ordinarily doesn’t get/like poems, actually likes mine. Thanks a lot! 😀
You’re a lot like my brother in that sense. He loves beer and enjoys tasting different kinds. He even joined a “Beer of the Month Club” at one point. Ha, ha! I’m a very visual person. I’m drawn to images. Thank you! I’m glad you like them. Happy Sunday!

What fun! For health issues, I’ve not been drinking much anymore. When I do I enjoy Captain Morgan Spiced Rum with diet Ginger Ale. That used to be my signature drink. 😀
Vashti, I love your double Shadormas. Great fun! ❤

That’s an appealing drink, Colleen. I’ve actually had Captain Morgan with diet coke once (in college), and everyone around me thought I was a weirdo. I just thought I was smart––all the taste minus all the calories. 😉 I’m so happy you enjoyed the Shadormas, Sis! Thank you! ❤

WITHOUT BARS
Prefers to drink at home
The alcohol’s cheaper
And being by yourself
The company’s better

Smoothly done, Vashti. You worked perfectly within the form with the prompts. And good job with the new editor. Your post looks great. I haven’t tried it yet – too intimidating. But I know I’ll have to dive in someday.
