Poetry Friday ~ Transition & Harmony

15 May

Hi, everyone!

Kerfe from K. Lines That Aim To Be (Blog) chose this week’s words for Colleen’s 2020 Weekly Poetry Challenge. We can’t use the exact words. Instead, we must find synonyms to use in their place.

Transition & Harmony

Together

The world is changing

Look at the shape we are in!

Must we all adapt?

Every fight is a chance

Real gain does not come easy

My editor informed me this morning that I’ll be getting my manuscript back this afternoon. Yay! I’m happy, excited and a little nervous. Even though she’s kept in touch sending updates every Friday, and had always said she hadn’t encountered anything mayor to correct I still can’t help feeling the jitters – that’s just me. Well, this means I will be quite busy this weekend. I can’t wait for you guys to see and hopefully read this book. It’s been the most fun to write so far, and I’m beyond excited about it.

I hope everyone is safe and healthy. Enjoy this day and the weekend, and don’t forget to count your blessings!

A great poem, Vashti. Great news about your book. I am impressed you can edit in a weekend, it takes me at least a month.

Oh no, I meant I’ll be starting my editing this weekend. It takes me about a month to finish my edits, too. Phew! I’m happy you enjoyed the poem.

Haha, I am glad to know that, I thought my first draft must be quite poor comparatively.

Good news, Vashti! Yay:) I pulled a 21 hour edit after I got my book back a couple weeks ago…whew…in a two day period. But was able to keep it on release schedule.
I enjoyed the poem and think change is inevitable. Have a great and creativity busy weekend xo

Wow! That was fast, Denise! Then again, you do everything fast. 😉 I’m too nit-picky to finish that fast. I’ll be working on these edits for about a month. :/
I’m so glad you enjoyed the poem. You’re right, change is coming whether we like it or not.
You have a terrific weekend, too! ❤ xo

I have a love/hate relationship with the editing process. 😉 I love doing it because I know my book will be the better for it, but boy is it hard. Ha, ha. I’m glad you enjoyed the poem and photos. I’m such a “visual” person so I like to use art and photos to depict what I’m saying as well as words. ❤

A great message Vashti. I was happy to see at least one black hand in there, I was beginning to feel left out 😌

Don’t start with me, Jude! Ha, ha. It’s difficult to say how many black hands there are because some “black” people are light-skinned. You can never feel left out on this blog. I forbid it. 😉 Thank you! ❤

It’s a thoughtful poem, Vashti! I’m glad we’re open to change and adapt. I watched the news several weeks ago about Russia didn’t think they needed to do social distancing. I checked the stats the last six weeks, their cases and deaths climbed from the 18th place to the second in the world.

I’m so excited for your news. You must have edited a chunk by now. Happy editing and have a wonderful rest of the week and weekend, my friend! ❤

Exactly, when Italy first lock down the whole country, it seemed to be so strange. They did the right thing and slowly coming down on the list.

I could rest this weekend now that I ordered the gift and sent the card to my daughter and son-in-law for their anniversary. They seem to arrive on or before the day.

I ordered several items for my daughter from Shutterfly for Mother’s day. They were shipped separately and the last item arrived today. I understand this is not a normal time for shipping!!

Have a nice weekend, my friend! ❤ ❤

I believe this is a time for us to be still and recognize that has been protecting us. We live and breath, to name a few, because of Him. This is the time to humble ourselves and know that we need God in our lives and love each other as Jesus requested thousands of years ago. “Beloved, love one another for love is of God.” ~ JC
