Hello everyone! I’ve been nominated for several awards and I am grateful and honored because this signifies that I’ve earned the respect and admiration of my fellow writers and bloggers. That means a great deal to me because I too have high regards for the talented authors who have bestowed upon me these honors.

Juicer ( I juice all kinds of veggies and fruits and drink a juice everyday)

Kindhearted (most people I know think so)

Love my family, friends, chocolate covered strawberries, animals, nature and basketball (Go Heat!).

Mondays I don’t have a problem with it’s Sunday nights I have a problem with because it’s the end of the weekend and I have to go to bed early, but I’m still on weekend mode!

A Week Of Awards

Hi! I’m Vashti! Welcome to my blog. Thank you for stopping by. In the last couple of months awards have been raining down on me like blessings from Heaven! (I can feel the heat rising in my cheeks as I write this). Words cannot express how grateful and honored I feel to know that my writing and blog are enjoyed by fellow bloggers and writers that I like and admire. 1. I’m a writer of Fantasy, Suspense and Thriller.

2. My first novel “The Basement” will be released August 20th, 2013.

3. I can speak, read and write Spanish fluently and some Italian.

4. I love to try things that scare me.

5. I would love to live in North Carolina.

6. Sometimes I daydream about going back in time and meeting some of my favorite people in history. (Hey! Einstein proved time travel in theory!)

8. The word cinnamon still twist my tongue.

9. When I was a kid I wanted to live on a farm (instead of the concrete jungle NYC)

10. I’m a huge Stephen King fan.

My Answers:

  1. What was the funniest movie you have seen? There’s quite a few. A Night At The Roxbury, Hangover, The Waterboy, The Watch, The Campaign, Hall Pass, Bridesmaids…I could go on and on.
  2. What’s your earliest memory? Getting lost at a carnival when I was five. (I wasn’t really lost. I just lagged behind for a minute)
  3. What was your favorite school subject? Reading, Writing, Science… (Nerd Alert)
  4. Have you EVER had a need to use algebra away from a school environment? Nope.
  5. Do you understand modern art? I understand some, but I don’t fall for it. I believe real skill lies in traditional art.
  6. Most enjoyable book? I’m a big fan of Stephen King. I loved reading The Eyes of the Dragon, It, Misery and so many more.
  7. Ever spent money to buy something you really wanted, although you could hardly afford it at the time? I’m a very sensible person, but come on, I’m a woman, of course I have. Ha, ha!
  8. Apart from when you were a child, have you ever danced in the rain? Yes, I have. I love the rain, and in Florida it is bright and sunny one moment, and the next it’s pouring rain during certain times of the year. I’ve been caught outside many times in the rain. I love watching the rain, listening to the rain and I love the feel of it coming down on me. (I run for shelter if I hear thunder or see lightning though)
  9. What country would you like to visit that you have not yet been to? Japan, Thialand, Australia, Chile. I love to travel.

10. What makes you grumpy? I tend to get a bit cranky when I’m tired, hungry or when I haven’t gotten enough sleep.

11. What’s your ‘Go to’ switch to make you feel better on a gray day? Read a good book, watch a funny movie, dessert, music, play with my dogs, call a friend.

 Cake. I love French vanilla buttercream icing and marshmallow fondant.

Titi. It’s what my nieces and nephews call me.


4. What is the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for you? There are so many, by so many wonderful people I couldn’t say.


5. What is your sweetest memory? My sweetest memory is of  my niece Vanessa when she was almost a year old. We were involved in a fender bender, and terrified that she could be hurt I carried her, and began to weep. She looked at me with this look of compassion and sweetness (yes, compassion) and placed her little hand on my face and smiled. It was like a miracle for a baby to behave this way. Her gesture completely calmed me because I knew she was okay.

7. One of my all-time favorite compliment was when someone told me that my personality was a mix of Angelina Jolie, Bruce Willis, Helen Keller, and Johnny Depp. He seemed to have thought it over a great deal, and he knows me well. I was totally flattered.
