Haiku Friday – Free & Think

RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge

Hello everyone! Welcome to another Haiku Friday! I visited Ron’s blog to check out this week’s prompt words Free and Think. The words reminded me of something funny I had seen a while back on Tumblr. After double checking the words, to be sure I got them right this week, I came up with this haiku. I hope it tickles you. 😉

In my case I’ve only been stopped twice… for driving too slowly. It was in the old times before Satnav and I was looking for an address. I think they thought I had been drinking but I don’t drink so… Fun haiku, Vashti.

Ha, ha! Stopped for driving too slow––that’s hilarious! I’m not a big drinker either. I do have a drink now and then. Thank you! 😀 xx

    That’s cute 😉

I did get pulled over once. The guy behind me was tailgating me, after dark, on the highway. It was really getting on my nerves, too; I was in the left lane doing 2 mph over the speed limit. I’d had a terrible day at work and was tired so I decided to stay at my speed and make him ride out the six or so cars I was barely passing. After I passed the last one I gave a signal and merged right, laughing to myself about holding the guy up. He got behind me and “lit me up”; it was a State Trooper and I had no idea! After the insurance check and all he gave me a warning and I told him the story I just relayed. He smiled Essie it was a good thing I was a “jerk”: It wouldn’t have been a warning if I’d been doing six over instead of two!

Oh no! Ha, ha! You’re lucky he let you go with just a warning. Then again you were going only two miles over the speed limit. I didn’t think people got pulled over for going a couple of miles over the limit. Harsh!

I didn’t either; I always thought they gave you 5 miles but I know better now! LOL

Love your Haiku. And yes, I have been pulled over way too many times to remember. My way is to just be so polite it hurts. I freak when I see a cop following me or when they are just going in the other direction.

But that is not the only reason I am here at the moment.

I have arrived at your doorstep to deliver a message & greeting. BTW, I am leaving you a present. Go to the following link & there you will discover an Award. Do as you will. Instructions like laws are up to you to follow or not. Free will & all that. jk ❤ ps. But it is fun. Just follow the LINK.

Hi Marje! Driving is so relaxing and freeing for me (most of the time) but once or twice I’ve had a lead foot. I like cardigans too! Ha, ha! I’m glad you liked the haiku. 😉

Hi Vashti. Used to enjoy driving but not so much nowadays. Like to be driven by a good driver!

I still enjoy driving and it’s a good thing since I drive and hour to and from work everyday. If I didn’t like it I’d go insane. I can see how it can get to you after a while though. 🙂

Very fun Vashti! Love it all, especially the name, Po-po!! I have been pulled over many times in my twenties, got off a couple times, mostly didn’t. I drive much slower now, being a mom has tamed my wild side in more than one way 😉

Yay! I’m so glad you think so! Ha, ha! I always giggle when I hear po-po, so I thought it would be a funny title. Things change when kids are in the picture. ❤

Great logic that both you & the Cop are above the speed limit 😀
