This might as well have been my maternal grandmother’s quote, for it was her mantra to her grandkids. I heard these words all the time growing up, while doing my homework, cleaning my room, drawing a picture . . . I still hear her words today, although she is no longer around. Whenever I set out to do something I always try to do it to the best of my ability and I must always complete what I start. I’m grateful to her for instilling these traits in me. ♥

Happy Three Kings Day!
I hope everyone is having a terrific Three Kings Day (Epiphany). Tonight it is going to be a chilly night here in Florida (60º), so we’re going to have hot cocoa with our Rosca De Reyes (Ring cake). 😉

I like it. It reminds me of one we use at work – If you don’t have the time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?

Ha, ha. That’s another good one. It makes perfect sense. 🙂

Great quote. And la rosca de reyes (o el tortell de reis in Catalonia) is very familiar to me. Enjoy!

I thought it would be. Did you have a piece today? Thank you!

Happy Epiphany! My grandmother made a Swedish version of your Rosca De Reyes cake. We always had Stollen. I remember it well. How nice you have continued the tradition! I do love your quote and try to abide by it to this day! Just shows how our folks drilled those things into our heads! LOL! Happy Three Kings Day, Vashti! ❤

It’s nice to continue traditions like these. There are so many sweet memories attached to these traditions and new memories to be formed. Thank you! ❤

What did you have in mind for today?

Just the hustle and bustle at work. I think I needed a dose of inspiration pill. 🙂

I’m glad I was able to provide that. 😀

Love the quote Vashti. I say something very similar to my daughters and granddaughters. No half fast jobs – do it right and do it all.
You know it sometimes me makes sad when I hear about family traditions that go back generations. My father was Hungarian but he passed away when I was very young and we know basically nothing about that side of the family. My Mom is Mohawk. The Canadian government succeeded in erasing our native language, beliefs and traditions – in our family anyway.

That is sad, Darlene. But you can create your own traditions with your family or reintroduce some of the old ones. 🙂 Thank you!

True… this reminds me of, “Don’t wait for tomorrow what you can do for today”. 🙂

I love that quote. Something similar was part of my upbringing as well. I hate it when people do things “half-ass” or stop the task and get back to it way later, if at all.

Hi Sunni! I hate that too. I also hate it when others try to encourage you to do things half-ass, ‘Just leave it!’, ‘Forget about it!’. It goes against my nature. 🙂

Very aggravating peeve of mine, things being left incomplete, or as I like to say, making work for someone else.

Oh my goodness! You better keep warm or you’ll turn into an icicle. Burrr! I grew up in NYC, so sometimes I miss the snow especially during the holidays. However, when I read about states in the –˚F I say, ‘Forget about it!’. Ha, ha!
