Writers Quote Wednesday – COMEDY

31 Aug

The Writer Next Door-Vashti Q-Writers Quote Wednesday

Welcome! It’s Writers Quote Wednesday sponsored by Colleen Chesebro of ‘Silver Threading‘ and Ronovan Hester of ‘Ronovan Writes‘. Anyone can participate by choosing a quote by a favorite writer then you may add artwork, photography, a short piece of flash fiction or poetry to share with us all. You can add anything you like to highlight your quote. Have fun with it!

We have a great theme this week: COMEDY chosen by Ronovan.

“Comedy was my sport. It taught me how to roll with the punches. Failure is the exact same as success when it comes to comedy because it just keeps coming. It never stops.”

~Emma Stone

“Being funny wasn’t a career choice growing up, it was my way out of situations; a way to survive another day.”

~Tracy Morgan

“To all the girls out there who think being funny is not sexy, you are wrong!”

~Chad Michael Murray

“I immediately bond with people that make me laugh. These are generous people that give the gift of life. Laughing is healthy it reanimates you.”

This is completely unrelated to today’s post, but has anyone begun to use Snapchat? I’ve just begun to figure it out. Well, actually I figured out how to use the filters, camera and video but that’s about it. Snapchat has been around about three years and I believe it’s going to become a huge social media tool. What do you think? Is it worth getting into?

A sense of humor is important to me. Life’s too dull without it. I know zero about Snapchat, but it was fun hearing your voice.

I believe that laughter is the key to wellbeing … A sense of humour has seen me through some rough times 😊 I can hardly Lee up with the social media I use now so have not ventured into the world of snapchat.

Yes, laughter is the time-honored panacea. I hear you, it’s difficult to be in all places at once, but hopefully I can network all these sites together. 😉

I haven’t dared to try Snapchat. I can’t keep up. Comedy… I wrote a chapter of my PhD on it and surprisingly enough most of the reading wasn’t funny at all. Not easy to be funny but very therapeutic to laugh…

It took me a while to try it at the behest of friends. Now I’m trying to figure it out. I agree, it is very difficult to be funny but laughing feels great.

Ha, ha. I hear you. I rather laugh than cry. Hey, whatever draws in those young adults readers. 😉 I love trying out new things even if it starts out as a pain in my arse. 😀 xx

I’ve never been on snapchat and don’t have the time to figure it out just now. I can’t keep up now with two blogs, FB and twitter, working, trying to write, etc. It would be nice to link it all together. If you figure that one out, maybe you can write a post on it for the rest of us.

Laughing is good for the soul. Sometimes things are way too serious.

I completely understand. It can be too much at times. When I figure it out I will definitely inform everyone. Every time we laugh we release good hormones into our system. Hormones that influence our mood and behavior to keep us happy and stress-free. ❤ xx

I think funny is so sexy! I love a man who can make me laugh and luckily I married the funniest man i know! 🙂 Life is too dull without laughter and I think one of the best features a person can have is to be able to laugh at oneself and not take yourself too seriously.

My favorite quote on comedy is from Tina Fey:
“You can’t be that kid standing at the top of the water slide overthinking it. You have to go down the chute.”
Which is basically how I try to live my life – no regrets, but loving the ride!!

Thank you for another inspirational post!

That was very well said, Pennylane! Those are my sentiments exactly. I think a man with a great sense of humor is super sexy too. 😉

Vashti you are beautiful, and it was lovely hearing your voice. But I’m no help with Snapchat, lol. My plate is full with so many other sites to babysit, lol. And love the comedy quotes. ❤

Aww! Thank you so much for the sweet words *blushing*. I understand, there are so many sites that it’s truly impossible to keep up. Oh well, I’ll get it when I get it. 😉 I’m happy you enjoyed the quotes. ❤

Looking forward to more experiments with Snapchat…I don’t see myself going audio or video but it’s fun to see what others are doing.

Yes, that tickled me too. Then again, I think Emma Stone is hilarious. Thank you! It was fun experimenting with snapchat and the funny filters. 😀

Humor has helped me get through things. I think we all need an element of comedy in our lives.

I have Snapchat, but I have no clue how to use it. I haven’t sent one snap or used any filters. 😀
