Poetry Friday ~ Photo Prompt

23 Oct
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Hello, everyone! A warm welcome to my blog.

I’m participating in Colleen’s 2020 Weekly Poetry Prompt Challenge. Today’s photo prompt was provided by Trent McDonald. I’m sharing a Haiku and Tanka.

Swans glide together

as lake mirrors the trees

a serene portrait

Mysterious swans

enduring all the seasons

dressed in white feathers

Together for a lifetime

A beautiful, loving pair

I hope you enjoyed the poems. Thanks for stopping by!

Fall evokes a thousand thoughts but I like the way your thoughts shift toward the lovely swans – an epitome of beauty and love! Nice poetry Vashti.

Hi, Balroop! I’m happy you enjoyed the poems. Yes, I’m an animal lover, so when I first saw the photo my eyes gravitated to the swans. Thank you very much. ❤

I love your poems, Vashti. Swans are such beautiful animals, but they are also extremely aggressive. You definitely don’t want to approach one. Lol!

Isn’t that ironic? They’re the picture of serenity. I immediately feel calm whenever I watch them glide over the water, but yet they’re so aggressive. I’m glad you enjoyed the poems. Thank you, my friend. ❤

Love to see and read about swans being loving. They can be nasty as nasty if they don’t like you!

Well, they’re nice to each other. Ha, ha. They do have bad tempers. ❤

They are graceful creatures. We have them in the lakes behind our house. They can be temperamental, though. Thank you so much, my friend! ❤ xo

Oh how wonderful to have the swans so close to you, Vashti! I have several kinds of birds in my backyard. One tiny bird with very long tail (I looked up the name before) was very aggressive and chases the bigger birds away when they come to the feeding of the seeds. Enjoy your weekend! ❤

Watching the gracefulness of swans puts a soul at ease. Unconditional love is the secret to their life-long relationship: a lesson from which we all can learn. I loved both your poems, Vashti.

Sis, both your haiku and tanka are outstanding. I love swans. There are fabulous stories in Celtic mythology about swans. Right up your fantasy alley. ❤
