Haiku Friday – Cheer & Call

23 Oct

♥ Hello and welcome to my blog!  It’s Haiku Friday!

This week’s prompt words are Cheer and Call. The words were provided by Ron of RonovanWrites. Ronovan is a writer and poet and he also does author interviews and much more. You can read some of his poetry and fiction pieces on his blog. He also hosts RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge every Monday. Anyone can participate and he even teaches you what haiku poetry is and how to write it if you don’t already know.

On All Hallows’ Day

A tremendous cheer was heard

A new year was born

Samhain ritual

Why called Halloween?

To cheer saints with no day

Hello Olga! Thank you. I try really hard to get the right images for my posts so it’s great when I’m told that it worked. 😉 xx

YES! I have to go out and buy candy before they’re all gone off the shelves. 😉 Thank you!

Thank you Hugh! You have a great time too. This year Halloween falls on a Saturday, which is great, so I’m getting together with friends and family and we’re going to eat, drink and watch our favorite horror movies. Oh and of course hand out candies to the trick-or-treaters. 😉 xx

I’ve stocked up on the candy and eaten most of it, hence another trip to the shops. I do love seeing the costumes that arrive at the door and, like you, sitting down and watching a good horror or ghost movie.

        Happy Halloween, Vashti. 🎃

Ha, ha! That’s the reason I wait until the last minute to buy candy. I don’t trust myself around them. 😉 Have a great Halloween also!

Great how you got so much meaning into your Halloween Haiku – clever! A time when the veil is thin….

Very spooky haiku/images Vashti. We don’t really do Halloween here in Australia but we do celebrate a horse race at this same time, (says a lot about our culture here!!!)

That’s interesting to know, Denis. For some reason I thought Australia had their own spooky holiday. 🙂

Sorry so late. Haven’t been able to look at any Haiku last week except maybe the earlier one’s. Was out of commission. Still am but I didn’t want you to think I had forgotten you. I love your illustrations. Perfect for All Hallow’s Eve, by any other name, should be celebrated on the 31st of October in whatever fashion one chooses. All should fit in. I love that you included all in your Haiku. How perfect. Inclusivity is what the world needs more of and you brought that beautiful message across. You just know the most meaningful way to celebrate everyone’s need to belong. Way to go. jk 😀 xox

Please don’t worry about stuff like that. I would never hold it against you. I’m sorry you’re not feeling well. I hope you recover soon. ❤ Sending good, happy, healthy vibes your way. You're so sweet! I'm happy you enjoyed the haiku. 😀 xx
