Haiku Friday – Muse & Pen

30 Oct

Happy Haiku Friday everyone!

This week’s prompt words are Muse and Pen. The words were provided by Ron of RonovanWrites. Ronovan is a writer and poet and he also does author interviews and much more. You can read some of his poetry and fiction pieces on his blog. He also hosts RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge every Monday. Anyone can participate and he even teaches you what haiku poetry is and how to write it if you don’t already know.

This is how I envision my muse with a world of knowledge in that little head.

She penned a poem

Her words superbly written

Inspired by her muse

Here’s the lovely Halloween-ish poem that inspired my simple haiku this week.

Dark Knight-tress

Underneath
This gown I feel nothing
Silk less feelings
The odor of intimate apparel lessens
Vanity fare from any sun
Warrior of beauty
Where have you gone?
A fortress of gloom
Not even death wants in
Black nail tips
Brownish plum lips

I close my eyes
I see them all
The Shadows
Climbing over my soul
The darken deepens
The stars dim my view
Irremovable makeup
Land becomes an enemy
I become
The Dark Knight-tress
Scolding my next victim

Just having fun with words. I like your Friday haiku, and the Dark Knight poem is great. Have a great weekend! (I just watched World War Z – very tense stuff.)

I love it when you have fun with words. 🙂 I loved World War Z, I’ve seen it a couple of times already. I’m like a kid; when I like a movie I enjoy watching it several times. 😉

Yes I did, went out for dinner to a place in Cambridge called The Chop House, which had very sharp hatchets on the walls. Gave the evening a bit of a Halloween flavour!

Wonderful Vashti. And I love that photo you chose. I wish I had a photo of me like that. Hahaha. Tomboyish up top and super girly princess on the bottom. Just great.
